Life is a Carnival (2011)

This vertical dance performance for 6 performers was commissioned by The Beat Carnival Belfast for the brutalist architecture of the rear of Ulster Museum.  It was part of a Legacy for the Olympics funded project.  The dancers were Colin Dunlop, Rachael Lindsay-Devenney, Natasha Wilton, Sarah MacKeever, Helen Ashton and Beccy Laidlaw.  The work drew upon the function and and natural history of the museum. The performers began as stewards of the museum, patrolling the outside walls of the museum with clipboards.  As the piece progressed, they lost their uniforms and turned into the animal exhibits they observed.
