High Art (2002)
High Art primarily used the climbers practice of bouldering, although it included some harness work. It took place in the Vertex Climbing Wall at the University of Surrey. The performers, Lucy Bland, Martin Hobley, Janet O’Shea and myself were all climbers and myself and Janet were dancers too. The performance moved from the gym area of the Sport Centre, up the stairs and into the Vertex, where the audience were in a reverse round, with the performers on the outside, moving around them on the walls.
